Terminal Tractor Operator Training

ProLift's terminal tractor training course for off-road/non-DOT is fully aligned with OSHA standards. It covers essential topics including the machine's anatomy, pre-shift inspections, safe operations, common hazards, and case studies. The course also highlights proper procedures for coupling/uncoupling trailers, transporting, and parking, along with necessary PPE.

Hazards specific to terminal tractors are addressed with guidance on how to recognize and minimize risks. Training includes classroom videos, a written exam, and hands-on evaluations, and managers must authorize trainees before they operate equipment at the facility.

Where Do Safety Training Classes Take Place?

For customers using a TICO Pro-Spotter or other terminal tractor, training is conducted at your facility. This allows our instructor to address your specific challenges and applications directly on-site.

During The Evaluation, Will A Semi-Trailer Be Connected?

No, during the hands-on evaluation you will operate without a semi-trailer connected to the terminal tractor.

What Should Be Observed During A Hands-On Evaluation?

Each employer should establish minimum standards based on general operations and their specific applications. Additionally, it is up to the employer and trainers to decide the pass/fail criteria for evaluating operators.

With our ProLift trainer, attendees will practice backing the terminal tractor into the loading dock, applying the wheel chocks, and using the vehicle restraint.
